Good conditions
Located immediately East of the RAOC and field events space, the course is open to the entire Oakland University community as well as the surrounding community. A new layout is now complete with concrete tee pads as of April 19, 2023. The new start and finish near the OU Tennis Courts. #1 tee is located at the southwest corner of the tennis courts. # 18 finishes near the northeast corner of the tennis courts.
Total distance is 5,478 feet (2,685 on the front 9, 2793 on the back 9). Par 55 (holes 1-17 are par 3, #18 is a par 4). All holes are a minimum of 200 feet with 9 holes over 200 feet. (4 holes are 200-249; 5 holes are 250-299; 5 holes are 300-349; 3 holes are 350-400 and #18 is 522.
Hole design takes advantage of the natural environment, offering a wide variety of shot selection to complete each hole. #16 features an island green.
Participants who drive to the course are encouraged to park in P-11 or other officially designated university parking spaces. The new #1 tee is very close to P-11 (note: old #1 is now new #9). Vehicles will not be permitted to park alongside Meadowbrook Road or in the grassy area around the filed event space.
Grizzly Oaks was built in 2009; renovated in 2015 due to the construction of the OU track; and now redesigned with an expanded footprint in 2023.

Love the new layout!! I hope the upkeep doesn’t go by the wayside. It’s a lot of fun right now.
