Awful. More to the community that takes care of the course (or more simply, doesn’t) than anything as the course itself has potential. UDisc is completely inaccurate for both tee locations and pin locations/distances. Some holes have a red and yellow basket, some do not. Sometimes yellow is the short basket, sometimes the red. Walking to 4 and 5 would be so easy if someone gave a crap and signed it better. Sad really. Could be a great course but in its disrepair I’d never play here again. Avoid and go to Lighthouse instead. One afternoon with a laptop, a couple signs, and making reds (or yellows) all short or all long would improve the course immensely. So easy yet the local club isn’t doing basic stuff.

It is absolutely grueling. Lots of straight up and straight down. Didn’t know Nebraska had that much elevation. Hard to find some of the tees, doesn’t flow super well. It is technical and an absolutely gorgeous property but my goodness be ready for a workout.

The course is desperately needing some work.

Wooded course with lots of demanding elevation making it one of the most beautiful, difficult, and rewarding courses to play in the state.

Unable to play this without Udisc. Tee pads are sometimes just the path. Inconsistent upkeep and setup. New baskets are nice

There were people actively working on it while I was there but in it’s current state it should not be rated 4 stars. The rough is way too rough. I love a good hiking/elevation course but this one is brutal. Could be a great design eventually. But signage is basically nonexistent. Tee pads are missing on many holes. Map isn’t accurate on udisc. Hard for a first timer to find their way around using the app or their eyes

Has so much potential but is not maintained. Needs tee signs, tee pads, direction arrows to next tee, trees removed. It is such a beautiful course and reminded me a lot of Idlewild and Camden DG in Quad Cities. IT NEEDS TO BE MAINTAINED AND LOVED. Some pars could be altered for the average player. Some holes have multiple baskets so it makes it confusing as the main basket color alters between holes. Had a blast but course needs some TLC a lot of TLC.

Best course in state. Incredible wooded lines with loads of elevation. So many different unique holes and pin positions

Not for the faint of heart. Lots of wooded hills and elevation change. Good exercise even if you aren't chasing plastic. Playground near tee of hole 1. There's some other kiddo attractions (Devil's Slide) and a daycamp in the summer. Restrooms are not generally available to the public most of the year. Dec 2025: Very disappointed in the redesign. Go to Cunningham, or even Beal now. Apparently "straightening out the course" meant removing the 3 true dogleg rights and leaving the 4 true dogleg lefts alone (or making them longer). There is no line on the new 15 and 16. It may be only half done, I don't know for sure, but there needs to be a line, and there is not. OMDGA paid for this atrocious redesign. Screw them. Summer of 2024 (old review): this is a very balanced course in my dumb opinion. 4 dogleg lefts, 3 dogleg rights, and 11 straightish wooded shots where various angles are needed to be thrown. I've downgraded this from a 4.5 to a 3.5 due to the decreased shot variety. This is despite 18 holes having actual teepads now (which is an improvement).

Some amazing shots on the front 9, but the back 9 devolves into a short course w/ dirt pads

Course is not well enough maintained. some fairways are steep to the point of being dangerous to navigate. signage is not adequate to Navigate the course.

Front 8 - 4.25 and gorgeous. Back 10 - 3.25 and wtf. My only hope is that this course is in the process of improving. The front is sooo good and pretty. Great lines.

This course is a complete workout. If the middle tee pads and signage improve - greatly - this will be an epic destination course - especially if combined with camping at Lighthouse. I'll be back.

It is not perfect. However, it is close. When I played last year, almost all tees were dirt, which was fine when dry. Some signs were missing. At first, navigation was tricky in a couple spots. For me, the elevation changes are awesome. The area does a great job to keep the winds out of play. Out of the courses I've played in the Lincoln, Omaha, and Kansas City areas, I feel this is THE course to play. Not advisable to play when wet and highly recommend to play in group. Update from recent round played. I keep the rating the same. Course itself is still that good. I've seen definite improvements over the last few years, which give it a nice touch. And recent clean up was impressive, especially on hole 7. Kuddos to the people that took the time to work on that. However I'm not certain why a few things have not been addressed, which keeps it from elevating to the top. Mostly signs and markers. I get it that it is tough to get concrete done on some holes but other more accessible holes are still dirt. I don't mind it, but it will always be a negative to most. And the missing signs. I think most agree that hole 9 could use it, or at least a solid marker for the tee. I know most holes had signs at one time. And I assume most were vandalized. I'm not certain what the answer to that one is. Mostly for me the biggest downside is the garbage in spots and the loser activity with the graffiti. While I never felt unsafe, it is unfortunate that people can't do better, in that regards.

Some crazy and fun holes but the tee areas are bad an navigation is confusing as heck if you're not a local.

Played over 250 courses and Hummel is easy top ten. So many unique shots and its a beast. 2.5 hour play time at a good pace.

I really like the work out and punishment for bad shots that this course is. But...but, all holes really need signage--lots and lots of signage. It's great to have three hole placements, but guessing on those, guessing where the next hole is (and udisc didn't help much), and guessing if my horribly throw disc was a beer bottle or not. 18 holes!
