Disc golf course

Iron Hill

Newark, DE

Hilly and heavily wooded, with wide fairways. The area of land where the course is occupied does have some walking trails that intersect with some of the fairways. All short pads are marked with either a blue or white numbered stone. All long pads are are marked with tee signs but do include the short pad location. There are four distinct layouts. Gold (long pad to gold (Innova) basket), Silver (long pad to silver (Discraft) basket), White (short pad to gold (Innova) basket), and red (short pad to silver (Discraft) basket). The main emphasis of the course is the gold layout which has been used for PDGA national tour events. Also the original concept of the course was one main pin position and two to three pads per hole. This concept changed with the introduction of the Discraft chainstar baskets as a second option, hence the creation of the four layouts.

Could use some arrows and tee pads for the white tees.

Great course. A bit confusing where each tee is supposed to be, and it would be great if there was a map at each tee instead of just at the furthest pad. Will definitely be back in the future.

Can't do much better in the state of Delaware for me, only thing missing is water hazards. You could say it lacks variety and that's technically true, but baskets, signage, benches, tee boxes are all top notch in a (mostly) dedicated to disc golf area of the park. Short tees being meh and lack of variety only things keeping it from being a 5. Oh and it's free and beginners should play short to shorts

This is a great course, and a tough one! Playing the course shortest tee to shortest basket still has several par 4s. Mostly wooded, with a good canopy which is nice on hot days. Well maintained.
