About the course

NEW: All 9 holes, both red and blue tees are now open! PLEASE NOTE: This is a brand new course that is still a work in progress, so you may encounter brush piles on the sides of some fairways, and chip piles that will continue to be distributed. Please take this into account if you choose to rate the course :) Nature's Edge at Ken Reid Conservation Area is the first course of its kind, a concept called "Experiential Disc Golf", developed by Fluent Disc Sport. Every hole has been paired with an animal that calls local habitat home. Every tee sign includes information on the holes animal, but Experiential Disc Golf goes beyond that, the characteristics of each animal were used to design the hole itself! Don't just read about them, experience them first hand! This course is suitable for players of all skill level, the red and blue tees will provide fun and challenge for everyone!

I tried to leave the rating blank (as "incomplete") but that's not an option, so it gets a 2. In fairness to the course steward, I was warned in the description. But "new course" and "piles of brush in the fairways" doesn't tell the whole story. Holes 1, 3, 7 and 9 are pretty much unplayable, particularly from the blue tees. Holes 4, 5 and 6 in the meadow are quite nice and well designed. Hole 8 is a delight: the fun tunnel shot through rows of planted pines. A woods course player's dream hole. The "experiential" aspect is a nice touch. I appreciate the work to install a golf course for our use. But this course needs A LOT more work to be an enjoyable experience. It was a slog.

I can’t remember the last time I have felt so miserable playing a round. The fairways are tight, the rough is heavy and you’re constantly looking for discs. Some of the lines make absolutely no sense. Hole 9 was down right dreadful. It’s a shame since the tees, baskets and signage are very nice.
