A few crossing fairways and missing tee pads would make it difficult to navigate without udisc. Most holes had tee signs and plastic mats for tee pads. All baskets were raised. Very beautiful and scenic course!

Ripley Castle has potential to be one of the best non-wooded courses in the UK. Great scenery and good amenities. The tee areas were quite slippy, which is tough considering you need to properly brace on them to throw uphill, which a lot of the shots are. It feels like the ratio of uphill to downhill power shots is a little skewed in the favour of uphill, which can be a little repetitive. There's the potential for some great downhill par 4s if the tee and basket positions were reversed. The high baskets look a little strange, and I hope they can be lowered. I would hope that for the price some further changes could be implemented to make this a truly great course.
