History
Bike World Iowa opened in 1979 with the Ames location opening in 1997. The Manager, Steve Lauber with his son - professional disc golf player Jake Lauber, brough disc golf into the Ames location in their effort to support the sport.

Bike World Iowa in Ames has a full spread of discs, bags and more. Beyond the plastic, they are a resource of knowledge for both new and seasoned players.

Steve is a very nice guy. What many people may not know is that his son is a pro player and Steve himself plays in amateur tournaments a lot. He knows a lot about almost all the discs we stock, with the exception of some MVP because the shop recently started stocking more MVP. I’ve bought all my discs here and I will probably buy more. This is also a good place to go if you are looking for custom dyed discs. There are some very cool ones.

Best disc shop in Ames. Usually has a pretty good selection with a used bin and misprint bin for cheapskates like me. Also has great employees who are very helpful
