The Most Popular Disc Golf Courses In Every Canadian Province & Territory: 2025

Tons of Canadians love disc golf, and their share of the world's total number of disc golf courses trails only those of the U.S. and Finland. Discover which courses in all Canadian provinces and territories drew the most traffic in 2025.

There's also a top 10 of the overall most popular courses in Canada regardless of province or territory.

Blue dots on map indicating the most popular courses in each Canadian province and territory for 2025
The locations of the most-played disc golf courses in each Canadian province and territory in 2025 (Nunavut's course seems to be defunct). The larger the dot, the more plays a course had.

Here, "most popular" means a course had the most rounds played there recorded with the UDisc disc golf app, the most-used app in the game for scoring, finding disc golf courses, and more.

Popular courses tend to have a few traits in common:

  • Near large population centers
  • Easily accessible by car or public transport
  • Having a layout that's enjoyable and encouraging for less-skilled players

To that last point, only two courses out of the 34 courses featured among provinces' and territories' most-played from last year in this post do not have a layout qualifying as "easy" or "moderate" (as opposed to "challenging" or "very challenging") in UDisc's disc golf course difficulty rating system. No course in Canada's overall top 10 most popular courses from last year lacks an easy or moderate layout option.

It's also worth noting that some densely populated areas – like within the city limitis of Toronto, Canada, for instance – have enough accessible courses to allow players to spread out rather than converge on a single course. Others have so much competition for their green space that disc golf hasn't yet found a foothold. These are a couple of the likeliest reasons a region's largest city might not be home to its most popular disc golf course.

Keep in mind, too, that "most popular" doesn't always (and, in fact, rarely) correlates with "best." The same way you might stop by a good sandwich shop for a quick lunch a day or two a week but visit your favorite full-service dinner spot only on special occasions, the courses many people consider the "best" in their area may take longer to play and be a little less accessible than the courses they play more often. That said, popular disc golf courses do tend to be really solid courses that are well worth checking out. If they weren't, people wouldn't keep going to them.

Two very notable exceptions to this rule-of-thumb in Canada are British Columbia's Raptors Knoll and Prince Edward Island's Hillcrest Farm. Both of these courses are the most popular in their respective provinces (Raptors is actually #2 in overall 2025 plays in Canada) and have been stalwarts in the World's Best Disc Golf Courses top 100 for years.

A Way to Avoid Crowded Disc Golf Courses

If your closest course is a popular one and you'd like a way to avoid the crowds, don't forget that players with UDisc Pro can see real-time disc golf course traffic online and in the app. Just check under the photos of any course listing in the app or on the right of your screen beneath the map location on the web (for web, make sure you're logged in).

What to Know Before Reading the Stats

Here are important things to know before you dive into the table.

On Where the Stats Came From and Their Meanings

  • $: This symbol means playing the course could require a fee of some type.
  • Disc Golf Rounds Recorded: The number of rounds recorded in 2025 on a course with the UDisc app, the #1 app for disc golfers. Far from every round of disc golf is recorded with UDisc, but given the popularity of the app, it's highly likely that courses that have the most rounds recorded with UDisc are also those that see the most rounds generally.
  • The layout difficulty rating symbols mean the following:
      “easy-circle"  Easy
      moderate square  Moderate
      gray diamond  Challenging
    “double-black-diamond"Very challenging

Click or tap to learn more about the UDisc course difficulty rating system.

  • World Pop. Grade: The "Pop." stands for "popularity. This is a quick and interesting way to compare every course's play total with 2025's most popular disc golf course in the world (a course in Colorado). If you've ever had a test graded on a curve, it's pretty much the same thing. The course with the most plays in the world set the bar and got a 100. The other courses' "grades" are based on what percentage their play counts are of the highest plays total. For example, if a course has a World Pop. Grade of 24, it means it had 24% of the plays that the world's most popular course did in 2025.

2 Currie Reservoir Disc Golf Course Calgary Free 15,000 2021  moderate square   33
3 Rundle Park Edmonton Free 13,188 1980  moderate square  gray diamond 29

Baker Park has been the leader in play counts in Alberta and Canada generally for years. But all that traffic created a problem that almost led to the course's demise. Get the full story and learn how disc golf community leaders worked with Calgary officials to save Canada's most popular course from being wiped off the map in our post "Preventing Soil Erosion & Compaction At Disc Golf Courses."

3 Legacy Park Squamish Free 10,810 1995  easy-circle  moderate square  gray diamond 24

Raptors Knoll was the only Canadian course other than Alberta's Baker Park to break the 20K mark in UDisc rounds in 2025. It's impressive that a free course that's this busy can also stay in good enough condition to consistently be rated among the world's best disc golf courses.

3 Kilcona Lakes Winnipeg Free 2,897 2012  moderate square  gray diamond 6

Does it feel good to be back on top, LaBarriere? The top spot in Manitoba has gone to this year's #2, Happyland, the last two years and was owned by #3, Kilcona Lakes, the year before that. LaBarriere last led the way in the province in 2020.

3 Shamrock Park Disc Golf Saint John Free 5,724 2023  easy-circle  moderate square  13

In 2023, Dieppe Disc Golf Course got some major upgrades that upped its amenities game and eliminated drainage issues that had been making a few fairways constantly swampy. It seems New Brunswick disc golfers have taken notice. 2025 was the first time since 2020 that Dieppe had more plays than CDT, which has been owning the top spot in recent years.

We actually talked with two of the disc golf community leaders in Dieppe about how they earned support from local government for their course upgrades. If you think your local track could be a true attraction with a little TLC, give it a read to get a few pointers on how to make it happen.

Congratulations to the young McNiven course on its first time taking the #1 most popular spot for Newfoundland & Labrador!

It's interesting to see the new #1 coming out of St. John's when the town's first course (which is #3 above) was installed just five years ago. Check out this post written by Confederation Hill's designer about his impressions of St. John's enthusiasm for disc golf when installing the course.

While there are a couple of other courses listed on UDisc in the Northwest Territories, Yellowknife appeared to be the only one that was fairly consistently available. The course is seasonal with baskets only available in warmer months.

3 Bennett Park Disc Golf Course St. John's Free 2,866 2023  easy-circle  moderate square  6

Dartmouth unseated Hammonds Plains to take over the #1 spot in Nova Scotia last year for the first time. It defended its place this year – thanks in no small part to having over 1,000 more rounds recorded on it compared to 2024. It has the distinction of being the only top course in any province or territory with only a layout classified as "easy" in the UDisc course difficulty rating system.

Nunavut has a single course listed in UDisc, Timmianut Pikiuqarvik. With just three recorded plays in 2025 and reviews suggesting many of its tone pole targets are missing or toppled, it seems the course may be almost unplayable at this point.

Ontario's most popular course over the last three years, Sandy Hollow in Barrie, closed for months last year following a March ice storm that caused massive damage to the park's trees. While we have a suspicion we'll see Sandy Hollow back on this list next year (barring another weather setback or local plans concerning a landfill going through), Paris – Green Lane Sports Complex can enjoy its first annual "most popular" title for Ontario since 2020.
