About the course

Pine View Park DGC has two main layouts. Main is the full 19 hole course. This layout is best suited for intermediate to advanced played and provides a mix of short and long holes as well as a mix between park style and desert style holes. Beginners may struggle to clear brush in order to get to landing zones and may spend significant time looking for discs. Many of the holes in the river bottom/desert area see significant growth during the summer months, the course gets significantly harder and it is a lot easier to lose sight of the holes, and your discs. The 10 hole park layout is a great option for summer as the holes are easier and there is a lot more shade. The 10 hole park layout stays up in the grassy park area and provides a nice mix of short and long holes with plenty of shot shapes and artificial OB defined by the path. This layout is great for beginners as the holes are open and it is nearly impossible to lose a disc. Intermediate to advanced players will find enjoyment in avoiding OB, driving greens for birdies and utilizing different skills and shots. This layout re-uses baskets for multiple holes so please be aware of your surroundings and give the players on the higher hole number priority. Park goers and walkers have priority, do not throw if there is a risk you may hit someone. Simply notify them you are throwing or wait for them to clear.

Do not play the main layout. Almost every throw is blind and the landing zones aren’t clear. If you do play stick with the SUDGA nine layout. The tee posts have signs saying the SUDGA members who maintain the wholes but it seems they all moved away and no one else stepped up to maintain it.

I can tell some work has been done over the summer here. A few new holes have been installed to replace the ones the river washed away. Fun course but towards the end, a few holes need redesigned. We threw from the drop zone on one of them to avoid launching over a full parking lot, and a random sidewalk area on another to avoid throwing over tiny children playing. Really glad to see this course getting some much needed attention.
