Squirrel Lake is a nice place to play away from the popular courses in Charlotte that get crowded. The new layout is nice but missing baskets 2,3. Really wish they hadn’t changed the OG basket 1… Easy enough for beginners and technical enough for pro, amateur to enjoy birdies and aces…

Currently, it's not anything above 3 stars because: 1) It's not that fun. Walking up hill then back down, then back up again, gets old (and tiring very fast). Also, really tight lines. 2) Not scenic, not interesting, and no iconic holes. 3) Not designed safety. A lot of holes on the back 9 parallel each other and are really crammed in. My son got hit with someone's drive, and the shot wasn't even that off course. I understand this course used to have less holes and was expanded recently. They may want to rethink going back to something that helps avoid conflicting shots (it is a public park).
