About the course

Open afer a year-long closure from damage from Huricane Helene! Sugaree offers a diverse collection of 18 holes which weave along the contour of Sugar Mountain at 4,000 feet elevation. Boulder outcroppings, cliffs and ledges provide elevated tee pads and precarious basket locations. Most holes are tightly wooded and the course intersects with our Fraser Fir Christmas tree farm for an added open component. Extremely challenging !

After being called crazy by the owner, I was kicked off the property. Not sure what happened with communications but I can share some "rules" that were not expressed to me clearly. The owner does not allow teeing off after 11am and will not let you play other disc golf courses on the same day. This is the 2nd time I've had to post this review. Be careful what you say to the owner, he can be sensitive.

This is by far my Top Favorite courses in North Carolina! (Out of the 420+ NC courses I’ve played.) The rock formations and basket placements are jaw dropping. This course has the most incredible terrain and beauty in all of North Carolina! I rated “Course Beauty” as 20 on a scale of 10! Be prepared for a mountain hike, but play all 30 holes. There are some stunning views, and the owners are super nice! Sugaree is a true destination course that is worth driving 12 hours to play and then going home!
