Previously we've explored Canada's most popular disc golf courses and also seen some of its offerings pop up in the top 100 of the world's best disc golf courses. But this is something new: A look at which Canadian disc golf courses have made the most disc golfers' wishlists.
And we don't mean "wishlist" figurativley. With UDisc, the world's top disc golf app, every player can create a wishlist of all the tracks that catch their fancy while checking out the over 14,000 disc golf courses on UDisc Courses

How Does Wishlisting Disc Golf Courses in UDisc Work?
Every time you view a course on the UDisc app where you have no recorded rounds, you'll see the Add to Wishlist option to the right of the course rating. If you tap it, the course is then added to your wishlist. When you search for courses, you can filter by wishlist and see where the courses are in the world that have caught your eye.
You can also see a map of every course you've wishlisted when you...
- Open the UDisc app
- Tap the More tab
- Scroll to Discover
- Tap Courses played / wishlist
- Tap Wishlist near the top of your screen
If you're going on trips, this is a great way to see if any of your must-plays are anywhere near your destination (or if you end up with clusters in certain areas, a good way to plan your next trip). Once you play a course, your wish has been fulfilled, and it leaves your wishlist.
Currently, wishlisting isn't possible with the web version of the UDisc course directory.
How Did You Make the List of the 50 Canadian Disc Golf Courses People Most Wanted to Play in 2023?
We ranked Candian courses based on how many disc golfers with UDisc added them to their wishlists in 2023. Because we plan to update these rankings annually and want them to reflect which courses are the freshest additions to disc golfers' daydreams, we didn't include any wishlist totals prior to January 1, 2023.
Which Canadian Provinces and Territories Had the Most Disc Golf Courses People Dreamt of Playing in 2023?
Province or Territory | Disc Golf Courses in Top 50 Most Wishlisted: Canada |
Disc Golf Courses in Top 25 Most Wishlisted: Canada |
Ontario | 21 | 10 |
British Columbia | 17 | 9 |
Alberta | 8 | 4 |
Prince Edward Island | 3 | 2 |
Quebec | 2 | 0 |
Despite being behind both Quebec and British Columbia in land area, Ontario is by far Canada's most populous province. Its roughly 15.5 million person population outnumbers second-most populous Quebec's by over 40%. Ontario also leads the way in most top 50 wishlisted disc golf courses for 2023 though British Columbia (population around 5.5 million) isn't far behind. The order of the top three provinces in most wishlisted courses lines up exactly with their UDisc Places rankings, which are based on the number and quality of their disc golf courses.
If you know Canada but not Canadian disc golf, two of the biggest surprises in the rankings are likely how few courses the well-populated and large Quebec has in the top 50 and just how many the tiny Prince Edward Island does have.
While we'll need to do some digging on the state of disc golf in Quebec to learn more about the sport's progress there, we can let you know that PEI is home to one of the world's best disc golf courses, Hillcrest Farm. That course's quality and the hard work of local event organizers allowed PEI to host the Canadian National Championships in disc golf multiple times, drawing big names from the pro disc golf circuit and, with them, disc golf media focus. Additionally, just this year another PEI course, Rose Valley, hosted a Disc Golf Pro Tour event that brought even more interest to the area.
Just as a note, if you're wondering why the numbers in the top 50 column add up to 51, it's because two courses tied at 50th place.
Some Things Worth Noticing About This Top 50
- Raptors swoops in at #1 over Hillcrest
Though Prince Edward Island's Hillcrest Farm outranked the highly-regarded Raptors Knoll in British Columbia on the 2023 World's Best Disc Golf Courses list, Raptors gets a victory here by beating out Hillcrest and being the #1 wishlisted course in all of Canada. These two courses were the real titans in the country, with all other courses behind them by over 20% in wishlist totals. - Glowing reviews
When we saw a course on this list with a perfect 5.0 average rating, we did a double-take and checked out what was going on. What we saw made sense, though. It's the Blue Mountain Glow course in British Columbia that appears to be specifically and elaborately decked out for glow disc golf. Based on reviews, this only occasionally available course is a magical experience if you're one of the lucky few who gets to play it. Per a review from aiwen7, "Awesome course. If you’re thinking about coming, just do it, you won’t regret it." - No dominant city
In our looks at most wishlisted disc golf courses in the U.S. and Europe, we had cities – Charlotte, North Carolina, and Oslo, Norway – emerge as wishlist hotspots. Though a few Canadian towns had two courses make the list, no city popped up again and again. - A great way to discover a new daydream
Given that helping other disc golfers discover great courses has always been at the core of UDisc's mission, we tend to keep tabs on which courses are building up reputations. However, this list gave even us new courses to drool over, and we hope it helps get your wonderlust running high, too.
What to Know Before Reading This Top 50
- Mobile and tablet users can swipe left/right on the table to see all columns.
- You can see photos, reviews, availability, and more of any course in the table by just tapping or clicking its name.
- The Canadian Wish Grade is based on how often a course was wishlisted in the UDisc app as compared to the #1 most wishlisted course in the country. Like a test graded on a curve, the #1 course has a score of 100.0 and the other courses' grades are based on how their wishlist totals measure up to that top mark.
- The Rating is the course's rating out of five stars based on the opinions of disc golfers with UDisc at the time we pulled these stats shortly before the publication date. Depending on when you read this, the course rating may be different in the directory than it is here.
- A green dollar sign ($) under "Fee?" means a course is a traditional pay-to-play.
- A gray dollar sign ($) means that a course is technically free to play but donations are encouraged.
- A blue dollar sign ($) means that there is a fee associated with playing a course that isn't directly related to disc golf. Examples include parks that charge entry fees no matter what activity park-goers plan to do and parking fees.
- No dollar sign means a course is free to play as far as we know.
